Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of Design Nordic's website and educational services. By accessing our website, enrolling in courses, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access our services. Please read these terms carefully before proceeding.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
- • "Service" refers to UI/UX design courses and educational programs provided by Design Nordic
- • "User," "You," or "Your" means any person accessing our website or using our services
- • "Content" includes all text, images, videos, materials, and information provided through our services
- • "We," "Us," or "Our" refers to Design Nordic
- • "Website" means designnordic.fi and all associated subdomains
2. Eligibility and Account Requirements
Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to enroll in our courses or use our services. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you may not use our services.
Account Registration
When creating an account, you agree to:

- • Maintain and promptly update your account information
- • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your password
- • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
3. Use of Services
Permitted Use
Our services are provided for personal educational use. You may:
- • Access course materials and learning resources
- • Complete assignments and projects
- • Participate in community discussions
- • Use portfolio work created during courses for professional purposes
Service Availability
We strive to maintain service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services with reasonable notice.
4. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- • Infringe on intellectual property rights of Design Nordic or third parties
- • Share course materials, recordings, or content with non-enrolled individuals
- • Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
- • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
- • Engage in fraudulent activities or misrepresent your identity
- • Harass, threaten, or harm other users or instructors
- • Use automated systems to access or scrape our website
- • Impersonate any person or entity
- • Use services for commercial purposes without authorization
5. Intellectual Property Rights
Our Content
All content provided through our services, including course materials, videos, text, graphics, logos, and software, remains the property of Design Nordic or its licensors. This content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use this content solely for personal educational purposes.
Your Content
You retain ownership of work you create during courses. By submitting work for evaluation or sharing in community spaces, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, and display your work for educational purposes within our programs. You represent that you have necessary rights to any content you submit and that it does not violate third-party rights.
Restrictions
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any content from our services without written permission. Violation of these intellectual property rights may result in account termination and legal action.
6. Payment and Enrollment Terms
Course Fees
Course fees are stated on our website and must be paid in full before accessing course materials unless payment plans have been arranged. All prices are in Euros (EUR) and include applicable Finnish VAT. We reserve the right to modify pricing with notice for future enrollments.
Refund Policy
Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of course enrollment and before accessing more than 20% of course materials. Refunds are provided minus administrative fees. No refunds are available after 14 days or once substantial course content has been accessed. Special circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Cancellation
We reserve the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, full refunds will be provided. You may cancel your enrollment according to the refund policy stated above.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Service Provided "As Is"
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding specific learning outcomes or career results.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Finnish law:
- • Our liability is limited to the amount of fees you paid for the specific course
- • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- • We are not responsible for career outcomes or employment results
- • You assume all risks associated with using our services
8. Termination
Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Termination does not entitle you to refunds except as specified in our refund policy.
Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited activities, or for other legitimate reasons. We will provide notice when practical, though immediate termination may be necessary in severe cases.
Effects of Termination
Upon termination, your right to access services ceases immediately. Provisions regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.
9. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
If disputes arise, we encourage you to contact us first to seek informal resolution. Many concerns can be addressed through direct communication.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Helsinki, Finland.
Mediation and Arbitration
Before pursuing litigation, parties agree to attempt mediation. If mediation fails, disputes may be resolved through arbitration under Finnish Arbitration Act, with proceedings conducted in Helsinki in English or Finnish.
10. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or service offerings. Material changes will be communicated through email or prominent website notice at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with modified Terms, you may terminate your account.
11. General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Design Nordic regarding use of our services.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to reflect the parties' intention.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
